iMetal Completes The Newseum

With over three years of planning, production and on-site installation, iMetal has successfully completed the engineering and fabrication of architectural metal works and exhibits for the 250,000 square feet of exhibition space; which also includes the Newseum's I5 theaters, I4 major galleries, 130 interactive stations and two cutting-edge broadcast studios.

Many of the challenging elements throughout the Newseum required iMetal to apply new approaches and new ways to process materials. The Journalist Memorial, one such exhibit fabricated by iMetal, is a sweeping wall of glass etched with the names of over I,800 photographers, reporters and broadcasters who have died reporting news events worldwide. The memorial feature soars two stories high and holds 24 panels of glass (each sheet weighs over 800 pounds.)The memorial curves out overhead of the visitors below.

The Newseum was built beside the Canadian Embassy, on Pennsylvania Avenue, between the White House and U.S. Capitol.

iMetal will be providing additional project information and completed element images soon.
